Shooting Star Wind Farm (KS)
Project Type: Wind Energy Center
The Shooting Star Wind Farm was an alternative energy project that has spanned multiple years and owner-client shifts; the project also underwent a series of changes to the scope(s) of work ranging from background research to realignments of the proposed turbines, access roads, and collector lines.
The Shooting Star Wind Farm project was initiated in 2008 and subsequently worked on through 2011. A total of 866 acres was surveyed as part of “good faith” effort on behalf of the various owner-clients for the inhabitants of Kiowa County, Kansas, as well as the Kansas State Historic Preservation Office.
