Market Center Pipeline

Project Type: Pipeline

Client: Hiland Operating, LLC

Location: North Dakota

Project Synopsis

As the proponent needed to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Beaver Creek Archaeology was hired to conduct the Class III Inventory for a proposed petroleum pipeline in Mountrail, McKenzie, and Williams Counties, North Dakota.

A 250 foot wide, 236 mile long project corridor was inventoried by Beaver Creek Archaeology. During the inventory over 100 cultural resources were encountered. After thorough analysis, a plan of avoidance was proposed, which included reroutes, monitoring and fencing of historic properties. Technical documents and reports were submitted to North Dakota State Historical Society which concurred with our findings and recommendations.
