We do a variety of projects, from small gravel pits to large wind farm surveys, which can include a variety of testing, excavation, or documentation. Our projects involve a variety of pedestrian surveys, shovel testing, excavation, architectural surveys, and other historic documentation. There is a lot of travel involved with this position, allowing our employees to experience all the great plains has to offer. However, we aim to have our employees home each weekend, when possible (there will be the occasional weekend work on away projects). In addition, employees receive paid time off and holiday leave, along with other benefits.

We currently seeking to fill a vacancy for an archaeological office support position. The candidate should have a college degree in Archaeology or a closely related field. The primary emphasis of this position would be assisting the archaeological report writers up to and becoming a reliable asset for writing reports. After a probationary period, should the applicant desire, the position would be eligible to become full-time with benefits. Pay will commensurate with level of education and previous experience.
The applicant must be detail oriented with the capability to critically think. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are a must as well as the ability to communicate with an array of individuals with different communication styles. The applicant should have a thorough understanding and application of English grammar preferentially in SAA as well as Turabian and then by default the CMS stylized format. The applicant must be proficient at utilizing Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Furthermore, the applicant must be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced office environment with an ability to excel at multiple tasks with an evolving status of importance and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:
College degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
Adaptability to multiple rapidly changing project needs and scheduling
Creative problem-solving skills in order to optimize project completion
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team player
Able to work well under minimum supervision
Passion for their profession with a continued interest in learning about their field and growing their skill-set
Proficient using Microsoft Words
Strong English written and verbal skills
Work and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred Qualifications :
Oil and Gas Experience
Knowledge and/or experience with Public Land Survey System (PLSS) with the ability to completely list a legal identification
Experience working with and interpreting engineering plat maps
Previous archaeological report writing experience
Ability to write technical reports in an SAA as well as Turabian and then by default the CMS stylized format
Previous experience in synthesizing and interpreting NDCRS Site Forms
Ability to conduct fieldwork if and when needed with the possibility of multiple simultaneous overnight stays
Responsibilities :
Accurate and reliable report creation
Direct data management and reporting for simultaneous projects under strict deadlines
Work closely with all staff regarding project work, scheduling, and data exchange
Physical Requirements:
Should be to remain seated or standing at a desk, working on a computer, for hours at a time with repetitive hand motions
Should be able to look at a computer monitor for hours at a time
Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak in the English language
Must be able to think critically with attention for detail for hours at a time
May occasionally need to be able to safely lift up to 50lbs from the floor to waist using both arms and hands
May occasionally need to go into the field possibly with overnight stay(s)
