Beaver Creek Archaeology (BCA) is excited to announce that we are looking to add an administrative assistant/receptionist and/or archaeological report writer to our ever-growing Bismarck, ND office.
After a probationary period, the position would be eligible to become full-time with benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, and Retirement). Depending on past experience and qualifications, a starting compensation range of $13.00- $17.00 per hour (with the possibility for negotiation for an exceptional candidate). The applicant must be detail oriented with the capability to critically think. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are a must as well as the ability to communicate with an array of individuals with different communication styles. The applicant must be proficient at utilizing Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Furthermore, the applicant must be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced office environment with an ability to excel at multiple tasks with an evolving status of importance and timelines.
All interested applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and physical requirements detailed below:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ability to work "Full-Time" approximately 40 hours per week from 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Pass a Pre-employment and Random Non-DOT drug test as well as annual drug tests
• Creative problem-solving skills in order to optimize project completion
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate with an array of different types of individuals
• Strong English written and verbal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player
• Able to work well under minimum supervision
• Adaptability to multiple rapidly changing needs and demands
• Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Adobe Acrobat
• Work and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Should be to remain seated or standing at a desk, working on a computer, for hours at a time with repetitive hand motions
• Should be able to look at a computer monitor for hours at a time
• Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak in the English language
• Must be able to think critically with attention for detail for hours at a time
Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft Office Suite Specialist
• Interest and/or some education in history, anthropology, and/or archaeology
• Past experience in similar style positions/responsibilities
• Previous experience with archaeology and/or archaeological file searches and report writing is a plus
Responsibilities:
• Answering telephone and appropriately handling and directing the caller
• Travelling to and from the Post Office to mail items
• Print, bind, and otherwise prepare reports and other documents to mail
• Schedule and coordinate hotel rooms for staff members and the like
• Using a computer to email, track and update projects, conduct internet searches, and other various tasks
• Organize receipts and other similar style documents
• Miscellaneous other reception and administrative style tasks as they occur
• Working closely with BCA Management, Project Coordinator, and other staff to assist them with various tasks as requested
Physical Requirements:
• Should be to remain seated or standing at a desk, working on a computer, for hours at a time with repetitive hand motions
• Should be able to look at a computer monitor for hours at a time
• Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak in the English language
• Must be able to think critically with attention for detail for hours at a time
• May occasionally need to be able to safely lift up to 50lbs from the floor to waist using both arms and hands
• May occasionally need to go into the field possibly with overnight stay(s)
